Steve's Birthday Surprise

Steve was lamenting the lack of his own leathers. He'd been wearing 'hand-me-ups' from our younger brother James, which really didn't fit all that well. By plan or by accident (or a little of both), Valarie (Viewpoint Photography / a sponsor of Aramel Racing) was within earshot of his pitiful whining and must have felt sorry for the poor boy. Next thing I knew, I was under orders to find him a new set of leathers in time for his birthday.

Now came the tricky part - how to order leathers in the right size without Steve catching on. I told Steve it was time to get myself a new set, and that Z Custom would alter my old leathers to fit him. We spent a couple of evenings on Z's web page narrowing down our choice to # 55, in red, white, and black (team colors). Z includes a comprehensive measuring chart on their page, and after measuring Steve twice, I placed the order.

The tough part of this whole charade was waiting until Steve's birthday (and hoping that the leathers would show up in time). Debbie at Z said they'd do their best, but there was a four week build time and I'd ordered with only three weeks to go. In all of my dealings w/Z, their service has been top rate - they didn't let me down. Debbie called a couple of days before Steve's birthday to let me know that they were on the way.
