We remeasured and adjusted the sag using Paul Thede's (Race Tech) method:
Formula for sag: L1 - ((L2 + L3) / 2), desired at both ends is 25 - 30mm. It's a lot easier to do the math if you use a metric tape measure - of course we didn't have one at the time (I've since ordered one from Race Tech). It takes three people to do the job properly - the rider (easy job), the measurer (brain power), and someone to hold the bike steady (strong man).
It took us about an hour of measure / adjust / measure / adjust ...... before we got it all together. The forks were way off. We started with 36.5mm of sag, finished with 27.5mm. Strangely enough, the new setting was exactly where GMD Computrack LA had set them when we picked up the bike last month. The rear was close - starting at 28mm and finishing up at 25mm.
I finally got off my butt and sent our spare front rim off to David Moore for straightening just before Thanksgiving. David was recommended by GMD Computrack LA and he did an excellent job. He called when he received the rim, said it would take a couple of days, and called when he mailed it back. It looks perfect - no scratches, no singe marks. You can't ask for more than that!
