Curt Jordan at Jordan Engineering has been working on a mild Super Bike-spec motor for Steve for the past couple of months. I wanted to wait until after the Las Vegas AMA SuperSport races to try it out, since we can't run it for the AMA races anyway. It wouldn't be prudent to give away all the secrets of his machine work, but the bolt-in items included:

• HRC F3 race cams
• 1mm over-bore Honda pistons
• K&N stage 7 racing jet kit (124 mains, #3 needle position)
• HRC F2 black box
• HRC lightened flywheel

Curt spent a lot of time dyno-tuning the motor and pulled a very respectable 98hp at 95% air density and 76f temp. Peak horses come on at 12,500 rpm with a very usable high-end range between 11,500 and 13,000. Guess I'm going to have to send my SB motor back to Curt for some of the same!
