Curt is an ex-racer turned race bike tuning wizard who knows what works and what's just advertising BS. He has a well equipped shop, complete with a Dynojet Dyno to back up his work with hard numbers. In addition to building and tuning some of the fastest bikes around, he also has a hand at putting together eight to ten Clymer repair manuals each year as well as the occasional write-up in the motorcycle mags. You'll find Curt trackside at most WSMC events, helping his racers squeeze that extra little bit out of their rides.

Bodywork is a pain in the ass to install. At least that's what we used to think until we fitted up a set of Sharkskinz to our F4s. It used to take us all day to fit other manufacturer's stuff to one bike. We set up three sets of Sharkskinz F4 bodywork in one day - that's how good it is! Finish is excellent and the thickness throughout the panels is consistent.

EBC's HH sintered brake pads were definitely designed with the experienced racer in mind. Very precise, very quick to scrub off speed, the HH pads have consistently shortened braking times for Steve and I. They will not tolerate ham-fisted braking, but reward those who can provide exacting brake modulation. Coupled with their Pro-Lite series of OEM-style brake rotors and you have some serious stopping power.

GMD Computrack LA

Frame blueprinting / straightening and suspension set-up are their specialties. Trackside support at Willow Springs is excellent. More often than not, Morris stops by the pit to see how the bike is handling and lends his expertise in fine-tuning the suspension. I may not be able to feel the effect of one click on a damper adjustment, but I do know that their setup works!

Held gloves have always had an excellent reputation for quality and durability. My first set of roadrace gloves were made by Held and I've never had a complaint. Tough yet supple, they provide protection in all the key places without being bulky. Helimot is the key importer of Held gloves, along with a number of other unique and very useful products for the motorcyclist. The Cool Shirt is one of our favorites. A perforated shirt with ribbing to keep the leathers away from the body just enough to let air flow through, the Cool Shirt is perfect for those 100+ degree Willow Springs days.

Charleston, WV 25311

Holliday Canopies is to pit covers what Z Custom Leathers is to roadrace suits. Start with one of their basic designs and customize to your heart's content. We ordered a 15" x 22" canopy for the start of our 1999 season and absolutely love it. Craftsmanship is excellent and the little details like a rain flap between the trailer and the roof make Holliday Canopies the only choice when shopping for a professional pit cover.

Our bikes weren't wearing IRP's frame sliders when we first slid an F4 down the
pavement at Laguna Seca in 1999. The bodywork repair bill was $600. Five additional
crashes in 1999, wearing frame sliders, and the bill was $600 total. You do the math.

The only permanent solution to prevent fogging of faceshields is the Fog City Shield. We have been using Fog City Pro Shields since the 1997 racing season and will never race without them. What are you going to do as you enter that high-speed Willow Springs T8 sweeper at 160mph and your faceshield fogs up? Close your eyes and ride from memory? Pop your shield open while trying to control a bucking, screaming race bike and hope the sand and wind doesn't blow your eyes out of their sockets? Install a Fog City Shield and you'll never know that kind of thrill. Fog City Shields come in clear, smoke and amber and fit all of today's popular helmets.

One of the first improvements we made to our first race bike was a quality shock. On the advice of GMD Computrack LA, we installed a Penske 8900 unit. The adjustability and rebuildability of the shock was light-years ahead of the OEM and all other aftermarket shocks. The most impressive feature of the Penske line is their upgradability. In 1997 we upgraded our 8900 unit to the three-way adjustable 8987 shock by just swapping out the internals.

Tyr Sox
8445 NE 1st 40th St
Bothell, WA 98011
(425) 823-8649
It's rare to come across a manufacturer who puts as much attention to detail into their products as Rich Lerue of Tyr Sox does. Not only are his tire warmers of the highest quality, but they come with cozies (blankets) to cover the warmers and fully enclose the wheel, hangers to drape the warmers from as you pull them off, and a tupper-ware bin to keep everything together.

The White Brothers catalog is chock-full of all the major aftermarket manufacturers' goodies, as well as some of their own home-grown go fast accessories. Pricing is very good and service is excellent. They've never left us stranded with that all-to-common 'we don't have that in stock' two days before our next race nightmare.

Even though they have a slight Suzuki favoritism, Yoshimura R&D produces some of the highest quality and bang-for-your-buck performance accessories in the business. We've used Yosh pipes and exhaust systems on our street and race bikes for years and have always been impressed with their power-enhancing design and durability. We did an extensive search in 1997 for quality rear-sets and once again, Yoshimura came out on top. Thier 'Book of Speed' is chock-full of goodies for the serious racer (even if you don't ride a Suzuki!).
Although the following companies do not sponsor Aramel Racing, we have come to rely on their services and advice and deserve a special place on our web site. They've gone the extra mile for us and we wholeheartedly recommend them.

Tom's business is building / re-building / maintaining airplanes from his shop at the Fallbrook Air Park. The pride of a job well done and his high level of craftsmanship is evident as you look over the work-in-progress around the shop. When it comes to the type of delicate TIG welding required on the thin metals of a race bike (or plane), Tom is The Man. He understands the rigors that racing places on the hard parts, having built and raced more than a few planes himself.

Knudsen Artwork
Bill Knudsen
Ramona, CA
(760) 788-1998
Bill went the extra mile, plus a few, to help us get our bikes ready for the '99 season. Four sets of bodywork, including prep work, in just over two weeks - that's a tall order! Bill came down to our shop and spent a couple hours masking off the designs, loaded the bodywork in his van and went to work with his paint gun. He made a trip back to the shop a week later just to make sure that he had the tanks masked right and to try out a couple of new lines. The completed bodywork arrived on schedule, his workmanship was terrific, and the price was more than fair. Bill also does a helluva job on custom helmets too.
Louis Novoa Engineering
1680 Marcyn Lane
Escondido, CA 92026
(760) 738-8858
Louis has the coolest of jobs (short of racing, that is). He works for a large manufacturer designing parts for their in-house CNC shop. We've tapped Louis a number of times for trick one-off parts. If you're going to race, you need a guy like this around!

Kenny at Sports Trailers is probably getting tired of hearing "Can we do that to the trailer?". It's his own fault, though, because when it comes to custom trailers, he's the man (and he always says "Yes, we can do that"). Excellent workmanship, even better prices.
